WELCOME

Our staff at Beaches Family Medicine is pleased that you have selected us to provide for your health needs.   We are committed to excellence in providing the best, most comprehensive care possible in a friendly, professional atmosphere.

The office was established by Dr. Tanner in Neptune Beach in July 1984.  Our current location has been a family medicine office since 1956 (the previous owner was Dr. Charles McKay).

SERVICES PROVIDED

We have four physicians, a physician assistant, and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practioner who provide primary care including physical examinations, gynecological care, sports medicine, pediatric care, removal of lumps and skin lesions, PAP tests, X-Rays, vaccinations, EKGs, full laboratory services, complex medical care, and a variety of diagnostic tests.  A registered dietitian/certified diabetes educator is available to provide nutrition counseling for problems such as diabetes (now covered by Medicare), weight, and cholesterol management.   A major interest that we share is preventative medicine. We provide care for newborns, toddlers, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens.

We provide hospital care at Beaches Medical Center. Women needing inpatient treatment for addictions or eating disorders may be admitted under Dr. Tanner’s service to Wekiva Springs Center for Women.

APPOINTMENTS

Same day appointments are usually available as we try to accommodate everyone, however, you are encouraged to make appointments in advance to guarantee the provider of your choice.   Appointments cannot be made after hours and we require 24 hours advance notice for cancellation or a $30.00 missed appointment charge will be imposed.

OFFICE POLICIES

We provide 24 hour emergency coverage through our answering service.   If the office is closed and you think you have a life or limb threatening emergency, call 911 and go to the nearest emergency room ASAP.  For other very urgent problems, you can contact our doctor on call by calling 247-1911 and talking with our answering service.
We do not want you to run out of your medication, so please remember to call for refills or have your pharmacy call 5 days ahead during our regular office hours only.   Please allow 72 hours for refills once our office has been notified. Some prescriptions will not be refilled without prior examination for your own best health interests.

FEES AND INSURANCE

We recognize that medical care is expensive and do our best to keep your costs down.   One way is to reduce our billing expenses; therefore deductibles and copayments are expected at the time of service unless prior arrangements are made with our office coordinator.   First time and self-pay visits must be paid for by cash, check or charge (American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa) if we are unable to verify your insurance.   A $30.00 charge will be imposed for any returned checks.
We will file your medical insurance; however, all costs are the patient’s responsibility if unpaid in 60 days. We accept Aetna, Blue Cross, Cigna, Medicare, Tricare, United and many other PPO plans as well as standard indemnity insurance.   Please call us if you have any change in insurance prior to your appointment so we can verify your coverage.  If you have any questions concerning your account, please call during office hours.
