Reiki
Reiki
(pronounced Ray Key) translates as Universal Life Force energy; a spiritually
guided, all enveloping energy, capable of healing the physical, mental,
emotional and spiritual bodies. Reiki is a gentle hands-on healing method that
connects the universal life force, or God energy, with the body's own natural
healing abilities.
Reiki
is not a religion, therefore it can be incorporated
into any personal belief structure. It is a natural modality of healing,
allowing Unconditional Love to flow. This harmony is the source of healing,
disease prevention and stress release. Reiki is done over clothing in a lying
or sitting position with no manipulation of tissue.
The
best way to learn about Reiki, is to experience Reiki.
Reiki energy goes right to where it is needed in the body, helping to restore
balance. Reiki is taught in levels, referred to as degrees. The First Degree
Reiki student is taught the Reiki hand positions to use on themselves and on
others, the history of Reiki and the Reiki Principles. The Second Degree
students will learn special symbols that enhance the Reiki energy and learn to
do long distance healing techniques. Third Degree is for those who want to
teach Reiki, and is by invitation. Each
Degree has an attunement, passed from Master to Student, to open them to the
Reiki energy.

I have studied
with many Reiki Masters and am ninth in the line directly from the originator
of Reiki, Dr. Mikao Usui. I
have studied traditional Reiki as well as Japanese Reiki, which has only been
introduced to the western world in the last 10 or so years. I was taught Japanese
Reiki by Frank Arjava Petter. I teach both the Usui
System of Natural Healing as well as Japanese Reiki and I teach Tera Mai Reiki through Shaman’s Touch™. I host a Reiki Exchange on the 1st Wednesday each month where Reiki
practitioners can give and receive the energy and receive the
